Toyota Beyond Zero Vision

Toyota is firmly committed to carbon neutrality, and it is actively moving toward its Beyond Zero vision. Currently, Toyota has more vehicles in its lineup that have low or no emissions than all of the other automakers, and it is actively working to increase the options available to customers even further. At the same time, Toyota is working to be carbon neutral in its operations and services.
One type of EV available in the Toyota lineup is a hybrid vehicle. These vehicles use both a battery-driven electric motor and a gasoline engine. The battery is recharged with kinetic energy as you drive the car. There are many battery EVs on the market today, but the amount of resources used to make those vehicles is significantly higher than the cost of a hybrid EV. In fact, producing one all-electric EV is comparable to producing 90 hybrid vehicles. Compared to all-gas engines, an all-electric reduces carbon emissions by 3.7 tons. This rises to 19 tons for plug-in hybrid vehicles and 130 tons for hybrid electric vehicles.

The 2023 Mirai is another eco-friendly Toyota vehicle on the market today. This fuel cell vehicle utilizes a combination of oxygen and hydrogen, and the only by-product of its operation is water. In 2022, Toyota sold 2.73 million electrified vehicles, and approximately 78% of Toyota models today are electrified. In addition to producing a great range of hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and all-electric fuel cell vehicles, the Beyond Zero vision includes Challenge 2050. Challenge 2050 is Toyota's goal for all Toyota team members to produce real change for the benefit of the planet. Toyota works alongside the UN's Sustainable Development Goals to achieve a healthier environment.
With many electrified vehicles in the current Toyota lineup, this is an ideal time to explore today's possibilities. Contact our Toyota team to learn more and request a test drive.
